Hello - My Name's Maisie

Age: 12 Years old
Sex: Female
Size: 21-25 Pounds
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
CCRID#: 1804
Just the Facts
1/9/18 Maisie lost her battle with oral melanoma :-(.

12/7/17 Sad news! Our vet saw Maisie today and found that she has oral melanoma that has metastasized to her local lymph nodes. She will stay in the comfort of her foster home for whatever time she has left :(

11/24/17 - It's been another year, and Maisie is still in her foster home. She fits in great and is well loved. However, over the year her vision in her "good" eye has gone. At the ophthalmologist visit this week, they said that this sweet girl is no longer visual in both eyes. She navigates pretty well at home using her memory & sense of smell, but occasionally gets confused. And, although she appears deaf, we suspect she does hear some sounds. She still loves to go for short walks in the neighborhood, eating, hugs from her foster mom and sleeping on the big comfy dog bed with her cocker sister. ♥

11/11/16 - Maisie has been in her foster home for almost a year. She is still waiting for her forever home. She does really well in her foster home with the other cockers and a cat. She is low energy and gets along with everyone. Being deaf and blind in one eye does not stop her from maneuvering around the house or on her daily walks - but she likes sitting on her dog bed most of the time.

1/16/2016 - From her foster Mom: Maisie is very sweet laid back medium energy little girl. She gets along great with the other cockers and the one cat in the home. She is deaf and blind in one eye, but that doesn't stop her! She likes to go for walks in the neighborhood - sniffing everywhere we go. She sometimes barks when she sees others, but she is really saying "Come here. I want to meet you!". She does not play with toys but likes getting loved on. And, she is a chow hound - but what dog isn't? Does Maisie sound like the dog for you? Fill out an application or for more information call 614-554-1300.

11/21/2015 - Maisie is new to rescue, more information coming
