SPECIAL NOTICE - Updated 6/12/20

Ohio has opened back up and adoptions have begun. We are working through the many applications that were in a holding pattern during the Governor's executive order as well as working through the new applications arriving daily. As the threat of this virus still exists, we are implementing the following procedures:

We will limit the number of physical home inspections and may request virtual inspections via pictures, FaceTime or videos.

There may be no public adoption events for the remainder of 2020. These have been the only opportunity to meet our dogs without submitting an application and becoming approved. If they do resume again, there will be safety measures in place that must be followed.

We will conduct private meet & greets only with approved applications and at the place of our choosing. We request that all people at the meet and greet wear a mask for the protection of our volunteers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding of the 'new normal'.

Hello - My Name's Zach

Age: 10-11 yrs
Sex: Male
Size: 26-30 Pounds
Breed: Cocker mix
CCRID#: 2082

Just the Facts
6/16/20 Zach has undergone surgical removal of the lip and nose lesions as well as a mass on his shoulder area. The nose and lip were found to be Grade 2, low grade Mast Cell tumors, and might have local recurrence. The rescue is looking into a chemo agent to help slow progression even more but we doubt this is available. The pathologist recommends close followup of any masses and removal where possible. His life expectancy is 3-5 years (but these are only numbers). Zach would love to have his very own home to live his life out with care and love !!!! Complete an online application if you can fulfill this wish. 6/10/20 Zach has arrived from TN. He is quite anxious and requires some calming medications to prevent barking. Zach loves to play ball and in fact will play as long as someone has time to throw the ball !! When he came into rescue, he was noted to have a mass on his nose and lower lip. Both of these were removed last week and both are low-grade Mast Cell tumors. We would be glad to share information regarding this tumor, just ask. He would love to be outside with his owner; doesn't mind other dogs or cats; kids are unknown but we guess his lanky body and long tail might knock a youngster over. Please submit an online application if you think you can provide him a loving home and future medical care. 5/2/20 Zack was rescued from GA. He was found with his deceased owner and no one would take him. He loves everyone and will play fetch all day!!! His age is estimated at 10ish. He’s a long and lanky (with a full tail) but thin fella. He’d be a great fit for a retired couple!!!! More to come once he gets to us.
