SPECIAL NOTICE - Updated 6/12/20

Ohio has opened back up and adoptions have begun. We are working through the many applications that were in a holding pattern during the Governor's executive order as well as working through the new applications arriving daily. As the threat of this virus still exists, we are implementing the following procedures:

We will limit the number of physical home inspections and may request virtual inspections via pictures, FaceTime or videos.

There may be no public adoption events for the remainder of 2020. These have been the only opportunity to meet our dogs without submitting an application and becoming approved. If they do resume again, there will be safety measures in place that must be followed.

We will conduct private meet & greets only with approved applications and at the place of our choosing. We request that all people at the meet and greet wear a mask for the protection of our volunteers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding of the 'new normal'.

Hello - My Name's Wilma

Age: 10 YO
Sex: Female
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
CCRID#: 2092
Just the Facts
2/7/21 home trial with Davies family 1/29/2021 Wilma has asymptomatic heart murmur with sinus bradycardia (slow heart rate), diagnosed as AV block. The cardiologist has indicated that she doesn't need medical treatment at this time. She hasn't had any observed episodes since the initial one. Her adopter will need to provide a cardiac follow-up appointment in 4-6 months to ensure continued stability. Otherwise, she's doing well with regards to exercise, eating, pooping and peeing. 11/7/2020 Wilma is doing great in her foster home. She is a somewhat independent girl, not your typical velcro cocker. But, she loves a good belly rub! She does well on walks. She occasionally has accidents in the house, she does best when kept on a schedule. She gets along well with her foster dog sister unless she runs right into her and then she can be reactive. She is very food motivated and will howl when she thinks it is time to eat :). Otherwise, she does sleep a lot.

9/24/2020 - Wilma will be coming from a neighboring county shelter where she was picked up as a stray. Her estimated age is 10 YO. The shelter says she has the normal "old girl" issues - we will know more once she gets into rescue.
