Your Donation REALLY DOES HELP!

SPECIAL NOTICE - Updated 6/12/20

Ohio has opened back up and adoptions have begun. We are working through the many applications that were in a holding pattern during the Governor's executive order as well as working through the new applications arriving daily. As the threat of this virus still exists, we are implementing the following procedures:

We will limit the number of physical home inspections and may request virtual inspections via pictures, FaceTime or videos.

There may be no public adoption events for the remainder of 2020. These have been the only opportunity to meet our dogs without submitting an application and becoming approved. If they do resume again, there will be safety measures in place that must be followed.

We will conduct private meet & greets only with approved applications and at the place of our choosing. We request that all people at the meet and greet wear a mask for the protection of our volunteers.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding of the 'new normal'.

Hello - My Name's Tango

Age: 1-2 yrs
Sex: Male
Size: 21-25 Pounds
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
CCRID#: 2110

Just the Facts
1/26/2021 Tango is doing very well after his plate and pin surgery at Med Vet. He has neen on restricted exercise for 5-6 weeks and x-rays have been sent to Med Vet Dr. Barnhart for evaluation before being released to full activity. He loves to play and is quick to respond to commands. He's doing very well with his "cage aggressiveness" he first had - most of this was fear-based as he was good once out. He does not like anyone touching his food bowl once in his crate and will attack the cage door if another pet wanders close by. For this reason, we are suggesting he be fed in a gated area alone. He seems to be good with other dogs but cats and children under 10-12 are unknown. We probably would not recommend placing him in a home with children under 12 due to his high-strung nature. A local foster/adopter with a fenced yard is still required./Barb 12/15/2020 - Tango is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. A local foster/adopter is needed during his recovery. 12/11/2020 Meet Tango! He was hit by a car and taken to a vet office in Kentucky. A supporter of our rescue asked if we could take him into rescue. Of course the answer was yes! He will need extensive surgery to repair his broken bones and will need a plate inserted. This will require surgery at a specialized hospital, most likely Medvet. He is due to arrive in Columbus today.
