Mix together these adjectives: lovable, goofy, fun, rambunctiousness & mischief & you'll be describing our Montey, our young, 1 - 2 year old foster cocker with a need for exercise & direction. He is 30 pounds, and has a soft flat coat. He loves people & can play all day with them & his nylabones!
Montey is a typical youngster who think he can run the show. We've been working on him with other dogs, as he can become possessive of his humans if other dogs are around when he gets a little comfortable. It has taken some time, consistency & a lot of work, but with the help of our stable/established pack, he understands he must SHARE everything with a tail wag & tolerance.
We would recommend an experienced dog owner, a strong pack leader, if other dogs are in the home, AND the other dogs in his potential new home must be solid in their behaviors, predictably & proven to respond to their parents well. He will get along with other dogs if they are stable & well socialized & the humans are in good control.
Montey has finally been allowed privileges to get up on the furniture, where he loves to nap, chew his nylabones, or cuddle & watch TV with the 10 & 13 year old children. Montey is fully crate trained & goes into the crate readily while we are gone, or at night to sleep. He'll make a great dog to that special someone out there. He is such a lovable goofball & typical "flop dog" for any warm lap with arms to pet him.
