05-14-23 bio for Teddy
Teddy is an 11 month old cocker surrendered to a local shelter when he could not remain in the apartment. He was very unsocialized so came into rescue where he can work with a foster on manners and learn to interact with other animals. He is doing well and prefers more submissive dogs as he doesn’t yet understand play so he initially viewed it as aggression on the other dog’s part. He does bark & get agitated in his crate (again a new experience) so probably not a good choice for apartment or non-stand-alone condos as he would be heard by neighbors. A fenced yard is strongly recommended due to his age & high energy level. Older respectful children would probably be ok; young children would be knocked over when he throws his body at them (he loves to jump in laps!). He is mostly house trained but will need to be on a consistent schedule or he will forget! At his previous home, he was never groomed or walked so those will be new experiences. He will sit nicely for treats or to have the ball thrown. He is a curious, sweet boy who will blossom with a family who will keep him active to burn off the puppy energy.
